This is a new, genuine Kubota sensor, part number 1J520-18600. Kubota’s parts catalog places it on the diesel particulate filter (DPF) differential pressure pipe, where it reads the pressure drop across the filter. Kubota lists it on DPF-equipped machines including the L3301, L3901, L3560 and L4060 tractors, MX5400 and MX5800 tractors, M5-091 tractors, SSV65 and SSV75 skid steers, SVL75-2 and SVL90-2 track loaders, and the KX040-4 excavator. Takeuchi sells the same sensor as K1J520-18600.
The ECU uses this reading to judge soot load and decide when to regenerate. A failed sensor, or a cracked, plugged or swapped sensing hose, can cause false high soot readings, frequent regeneration requests, DPF fault codes and derate. Some aftermarket listings call this part an intake air pressure sensor. Kubota’s catalog puts it on the DPF pressure pipe.
