Turbocharger Sourcing: Any Diesel Turbo, New or Remanufactured

Call for Pricing

The turbochargers listed on this site are the ones we move often enough to keep priced and ready. They are a small slice of what we actually supply. In practice most turbo orders are a specific part number for a specific machine, which is why the fastest path is simply to call 530-668-0818 with the number stamped on your unit.

The Valley Fuel Injection Difference

We have been a Northern California diesel specialist since 1993, and we are an authorized dealer for the people who actually build these turbos. That means genuine units with real warranty coverage, not a mystery box from a marketplace listing. It also means we will tell you honestly when a turbo is not your problem, because we test fuel systems all day and we know what a fuel issue looks like when it is wearing a turbo costume.

What We Need From You

Turbochargers are application specific, and the same engine will often have shipped with more than one turbo depending on year, emissions package, and rating. Guessing from the truck alone is how people end up with a turbo that bolts on and runs wrong. Have this ready and we can usually confirm the exact unit on the first call:

  • The number stamped or tagged on the turbo itself. This is the one that matters most.
  • Engine make, model, and serial number if you have it
  • What the turbo is bolted to: truck, tractor, genset, excavator, boat
  • Whether you want new or remanufactured, if you have a preference
  • Whether you still have the old unit for a core return

New or Remanufactured

We supply both, and the right answer depends on the unit. A remanufactured turbo from Holset, Garrett, or Cummins ReCon is built to the same specification as new and carries a real warranty, usually at a meaningful saving. New makes more sense when a reman is not offered for your number, when the core is not available, or when you simply want a factory-new unit. We will tell you which options exist for your part number and what each one costs before you commit.

Quoted pricing covers the unit itself. Any applicable sales tax, shipping, and a refundable core charge on remanufactured units are additional and are spelled out before you order. Buying tax-exempt? Qualifying diesel repair shops, fleets, farms, and agricultural operations can purchase tax-free. Set up tax-exempt purchasing by submitting your resale or exemption certificate once, and every qualifying order is tax-free going forward.

How It Works · Call for Pricing and Availability

Because every turbo is a specific part number for a specific machine, we quote each one individually. Here is the process:

  1. Call us with the number off your turbo so we can confirm exactly which unit you need.
  2. We check new and remanufactured availability and give you real pricing and a lead time, including the core charge if there is one.
  3. We ship it to you anywhere in the country, or you pick it up in Woodland.

Call 530-668-0818 with your part number, or send us the details online → and we will get back to you with options.

Why Valley Fuel Injection

Most shops selling turbos online are order takers. We are a diesel injection shop that has been testing and rebuilding fuel systems in Woodland since 1993, so when you call, you are talking to people who work on these engines. If your turbo really is dead we will get you the right one. If your symptoms sound more like fuel, we would rather tell you that than sell you a turbo you did not need. Already know your turbo is fine and the problem is upstream? Start with our injection pump and injector rebuild services.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a turbocharger cost?

It depends entirely on the unit. Smaller ag and industrial turbos often land near $1,000 to $1,500, while variable geometry turbos for modern Cummins and Power Stroke engines commonly run $2,000 to $4,000 or more. Remanufactured units usually save a meaningful amount over new. Call 530-668-0818 with the number off your turbo and we will give you real pricing for your exact part rather than a guess.

Why is there no price listed on this page?

Because a turbocharger is a specific part number for a specific machine, and the same engine may have shipped with several different turbos. Listing one price here would be meaningless and would probably be wrong for your unit. The turbos we do keep priced and ready are listed in our turbocharger category. For everything else, one phone call gets you an accurate number.

What information do you need to find my turbo?

The number stamped or tagged on the turbo itself is the single most useful thing. Beyond that, the engine make, model, and serial number, and what the unit is installed in, all help us confirm the right part. If you are not sure where to look, call us and we will walk you through where the tag lives on your particular turbo.

Do you sell new turbos or remanufactured?

Both. We supply new units and factory remanufactured units from Holset, Garrett, BorgWarner, Cummins ReCon, and Alliant Power. A quality reman is built to the same specification as new and carries a real warranty, usually at a saving. We will tell you what exists for your part number and what each option costs so you can decide.

Is there a core charge on a turbocharger?

On remanufactured units, usually yes. The core charge is refunded when we receive your old turbo back in rebuildable condition. New units have no core. We tell you the core amount up front as part of the quote, so there are no surprises when the invoice arrives.

How long does it take to get a turbo?

Most turbos we source ship within a few days, and some are available same day from stock. Odd or obsolete part numbers can take longer, and we will tell you honestly what the lead time looks like when we quote it rather than after you have paid.

Do you rebuild turbochargers?

Generally no. Turbochargers are one of the few things in the diesel world where a factory new or remanufactured unit is usually the better value than a rebuild, so we supply units rather than rebuild yours. Fuel injection is different: injection pumps and injectors are absolutely worth rebuilding, and that is our core business. See our rebuild services for pumps and injectors.

Can you ship a turbo to me out of state?

Yes. We ship turbochargers across the country every week, from our shop in Woodland, California. Call 530-668-0818 with your part number and we will quote the unit and the freight together.
