This is a new Stanadyne 27836 pencil fuel injector for Kubota direct-injection diesels. Stanadyne lists it for the D1302, D1402, D1462 and V1512. It replaces Kubota 17391-53000 and 17391-53001. Kubota’s parts catalog uses 17391-53000 on the L2250, L2550, L2650, L2850, L3250, L3350, L3450 and L4150 tractors and on the M4030 and M5030.

A pencil injector is a slim, clamp-held injector. When one wears you get hard starting, smoke, rough running and a knock on the bad cylinder. A dribbling tip can also thin the oil with fuel. On a high-hour engine most shops replace the full set so every cylinder sprays the same.
