Bosch CP3 high-pressure fuel pumps for the 2003 to 2007 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins, the 2007.5 to 2018 and 2021 to 2024 Ram 6.7L Cummins, and the 2001 to 2010 Chevy and GMC 6.6L Duramax (LB7, LLY, LBZ and LMM), plus Cummins ISB midrange trucks and buses and Cummins QSB, Komatsu and AGCO industrial engines. Depending on the engine, choose a new Bosch pump, a Bosch factory remanufactured pump or an Alliant Power remanufactured pump. Pick your engine in the table below, or call 530-668-0818 with the number off your old pump and we will match it.
Shop CP3 pumps by engine
CP3s are matched to the engine and model year, not just the make. Condition is listed for each pump below. Reman units ship as exchange pumps, so there is no core to send in first and no waiting on a bench slot.

More CP3 pumps: new Bosch and Alliant Power remanufactured pumps for the Ram and Duramax engines above, the Cummins ISB 5.9 midrange (2003 to 2007), the ISB 6.7 midrange rear gear (2007 to 2010), the Cummins QSB 5.9, Komatsu SAA6D107E and SAA4D107E, and AGCO Power 74, 84 and 98 and Massey Ferguson and Fendt engines are all listed below.
If your truck sits between two of those ranges, or you are not sure which Duramax generation you have, call (530) 668-0818 with the VIN and we will confirm it in a minute. For the midrange and industrial pumps, have the engine serial number (ESN) and CPL from the engine dataplate ready.
How to tell whether the CP3 is actually the problem
A CP3 gets blamed for a lot of things it did not do. Before you replace one, it is worth ruling out the cheaper causes:
- Low rail pressure codes can come from a failing pump, but also from a plugged filter, a leaking injector return, or a bad rail pressure sensor. Return-flow testing tells them apart.
- Hard starting when hot is often injectors leaking down rather than the pump losing pressure.
- Metal in the fuel system. If a CP3 has come apart internally, debris travels downstream. Replacing the pump without cleaning the rails, lines and injectors gets you a second failed pump. On a contaminated system the injectors and rails have to be dealt with too.
- Fuel starvation. A CP3 is lubricated by the fuel passing through it. A weak lift pump or restricted supply will kill a new pump the same way it killed the old one.
We bench-test pumps and injectors and can tell you what the numbers actually say instead of guessing. If you would rather diagnose before buying, that is the better order of operations.
What “remanufactured” means on these
Pumps marked Bosch factory reman are remanufactured by Bosch: disassembled, worn components replaced, reassembled and calibrated to Bosch specification. They carry a Bosch remanufactured part number (0 986 437 series) that cross-references the original 0 445 020 number on your old pump, and each listing shows the full cross-reference. Valley Fuel Injection & Turbo is a Bosch Authorized Service dealer and has worked on diesel fuel injection since 1993, which is why we sell pumps from a known source rather than an unbranded rebuild of unknown origin.
Core charge and exchange
Reman CP3s carry a refundable core charge that is added at checkout ($200 on most, $100 on the QSB pump). Send your old pump back within 30 days and the core charge is refunded, provided it is rebuildable: no cracked housings, no fire damage, nothing missing. A prepaid return label is included. Full terms are on the exchange program page. The new 2021–2024 Ram pump has no core charge.
Warranty and shipping
Remanufactured injection pumps carry 12 months, unlimited mileage from date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. The new Bosch pump is covered by Bosch’s own warranty, and we help you process the claim. See the warranty page for full terms.
We ship nationwide from Woodland, California via UPS and USPS. See shipping policy.
Common questions
Do I need to replace injectors at the same time? Not automatically. If the old pump failed catastrophically and sent debris downstream, yes. If it simply wore out, often not. Testing the injectors answers it, and testing eight is cheaper than replacing eight.
Is a CP3 swap onto a CP4 truck something you do? Call and ask with your specific truck. It is a common conversion but the details matter.
Can I send my own CP3 in to be rebuilt? Yes. See mail-in rebuild service. For CP3 specifically, the reman exchange above is usually faster and often costs about the same.
Is the Duramax CP3 the same as the Cummins CP3? Same Bosch family, different pumps. Mounting, drive, fittings and calibration differ between the Duramax and Cummins applications, and between Duramax generations. Order by engine and year, and match the Bosch number on your old pump if you can read it.
Do I need to prime a new CP3? Yes. Fill the fuel filter, cycle the lift pump (on trucks that have one) and crank in short bursts until pressure builds. Running a dry CP3 will damage it. Ask us for the procedure for your engine when you order.
Does the 2011 to 2016 LML Duramax use a CP3? No. The LML runs a Bosch CP4.2. See CP4 pumps, and the CP4 to CP3 conversion guide if you are thinking about a swap.
