It replaces 6A320-59210, 6A320-59212 and 6A320-59213. Kubota’s own application list names the 05 Series BG engines, its generator-drive builds, and Kubota engine dealers list the starter for certain builds of the D722, D905, D1005, D1105 and D1305 diesels and the DF1005 spark-ignition engine.

Replace a starter when it clicks but will not turn the engine, cranks slowly on a good battery, grinds on engagement or keeps running after the engine fires. Rule out the battery, cables, grounds and the start signal first. Kubota’s 05 Series workshop manual lists a 1.2 kW starter for the D1005, D1105, D1305 and V1505, so this 1.0 kW unit belongs only on the builds that call for a 6A320 number.

Disconnect the battery before removal. Clean the mounting face and the ground path, check the flywheel ring gear for worn or chipped teeth, and tighten the mounting bolts to Kubota’s torque spec. This is a 12 V starter, so do not fit it to a 24 V machine.

Will it fit my Kubota D1105?

Only on D1105 builds that call for a 6A320 starter, such as BG generator-drive engines. Kubota’s workshop manual lists a 1.2 kW starter for the D1105-E4B, and this is the 1.0 kW unit, so call 530-668-0818 with your engine serial number and the number on your old starter.

How is it different from the 67980-31153?

Both are genuine Kubota 12 V, 1.0 kW, 9-tooth starters, and dealers list both for the D722 and D1105.
