This is a new, genuine Kubota starter motor assembly, part number EG523-63012. Kubota’s parts description reads “STARTER,ASSY”. It carries the EG523 prefix, the number series Kubota uses on parts for its WG Series spark-ignition engines, and it is a later number in the same starter series as EG523-63010, the 12 V, 1.0 kW, 9-tooth starter Kubota lists for the WG1605. Kubota’s dealer catalogs have not yet published an engine list for EG523-63012 itself, so order it by the number on your old starter or let us match it from your engine serial number.

Replace a starter when it clicks but will not turn the engine, cranks slowly on a good battery or grinds on engagement. On gasoline and LPG industrial engines, check the battery, cables, grounds, fuses and the machine’s start interlock first, since they cause many no-crank calls.

Specifications

Fits / Applications

• Kubota WG Series gasoline and LPG engines (builds that call for EG523-63012; confirm by engine serial number)
• Direct replacement for a Kubota starter numbered EG523-63012

Disconnect the battery before removal. Compare the old and new starters before fitting: the voltage, mounting flange, pinion tooth count and terminal layout must match. Clean the mounting face and the ground path, check the flywheel ring gear for worn or chipped teeth, and tighten the mounting bolts to Kubota’s torque spec.
