Kubota’s workshop manual for the D1803-CR and V2403-CR treats ECU replacement as a programming job. The program file is downloaded from Kubota’s service system for the engine model and serial number and for the serial number of the new ECU, then written to the ECU with Kubota’s Diagmaster software and the DST-i interface. After that the manual has you connect the ECU, clear the fault codes and run a manual DPF regeneration. Kubota restricts access to Diagmaster, so line up a Kubota engine dealer for this step. Disconnect the battery before you unplug the old ECU, and check the connector pins, the grounds and battery voltage, since the fault that damaged the old unit can damage the new one.
