This is the Alliant Power AP65123N, a fuel injection control module (FICM) remanufactured by Alliant Power for the Ford 6.0L Power Stroke. It covers F-Series Super Duty with an engine built from 9/22/03 through 2004, and the Excursion built from 9/22/03 through 1/31/05. It comes pre-programmed and ready to install. It is the same module as Alliant Power AP65123, sold with no core, so there is no old unit to send back.

A failing FICM can show up as a hard start or no start, a miss on several cylinders at once, or injector circuit fault codes. Low battery voltage, a weak charging system and a chafed injector harness cause the same complaints, so load test the batteries and check the harness before you condemn the module. Engines built before 9/22/03 take AP65122, and 2005 to 2007 F-Series built from 2/1/05, Excursion built from 2/1/05 and E-Series vans take AP65124 or its no-core twin AP65124N. Sellers do not agree on 2005 model year F-Series built before 2/1/05, or on 2004 E-Series vans, so call us with the build date for those.

Disconnect both batteries before you unplug the module. Check the three connectors and the injector harness for corrosion, bent pins and chafing. Load test both batteries and check charging voltage before you fit the replacement. The unit comes pre-programmed.
