This is the Alliant Power AP63587, an electronic turbo actuator remanufactured by Alliant Power. It fits the Holset HE300VG variable geometry turbocharger on 2013 to 2024 Ram 2500, 3500, 4500 and 5500 trucks with the 6.7L Cummins, both pickups and cab and chassis. It is the actuator only: the turbocharger is not part of this listing. Holset sells the same actuator as 6382096HX remanufactured and 6382096H new, and it crosses to Mopar 68481772AA (2013 to 2018 trucks) and 68444773AA (2019 to 2024 trucks).
The actuator is the electronic unit that moves the turbo’s variable geometry nozzle. When it fails, the truck can set code U010C, lost communication with the turbocharger control module. The same code can come from a wiring, power or ground fault, so check those before you replace the actuator. Also check that the nozzle mechanism in the turbo moves freely: on any electronic VGT actuator, a mechanism that sticks from soot or carbon can overload the replacement. The actuator must be calibrated to the turbo when it is installed.

Calibrate the actuator to the turbo when you fit it, following the Cummins or Ram service procedure with a scan tool or service tool that supports it. Do not bolt it on and drive. First check that the turbo’s nozzle mechanism moves freely through its full travel, and clean or replace a turbo that is sticking from soot. Coolant hoses run to the turbo assembly on this engine, so if you open them for the job, top up and check the coolant level afterwards.
