Delphi 7185-900W is a new 12 V fuel shut-off solenoid, also called a stop solenoid, with a single central stud terminal. It fits Delphi DP200 series and Lucas CAV DPA rotary injection pumps. It is energize-to-run: with the key on it holds the fuel open, and when the power drops the engine shuts down. It crosses to Perkins 28480007, John Deere RE54064 and RE22744, Cummins 3904630, Case IH J904630 and Ford E8NN9D278AA, and replaces the older Delphi number 7167-620A.

A bad stop solenoid usually means an engine that cranks but will not start, or one that will not shut off with the key. Check for 12 V at the stud with the key on before you replace it. Delphi makes look-alike solenoids in the same body: 7185-900T is 12 V with twin spade (Lucar) terminals, and 7185-900K (stud) and 7185-900P (twin terminals) are 24 V. Match the voltage and terminal style of your old solenoid. Aftermarket copies are sold under this same number; this listing is the Delphi part.

Check that the solenoid plunger moves freely, and fit a new O-ring or sealing washer where the pump uses one. Torque the solenoid into the pump body to the engine or pump maker’s figure, then connect the switched 12 V feed to the stud and tighten the nut.
