A new Delphi DP200 rotary injection pump, Delphi part number 8920A450G. This is a Perkins pump, not a John Deere pump. Delphi lists it for the Perkins Darwin 4NA LP2, a four-cylinder naturally aspirated build rated at 2200 rpm. Perkins numbers are 2644F121, UFK4F121 and 2644F101. The Caterpillar number is 193-0160.

This number replaces Delphi 8920A451G to 8920A459G and 8920A450T to 8920A453T. Common reasons to replace a DP200: hard starting, low power or smoke from worn internals, leaks at the seals, or damage from water or dirt in the fuel. This is a new pump, not a rebuild. We also rebuild DP200 and DP210 pumps on our own bench. Perkins DP200 pumps are lock timed, so read the install notes before you pull the old pump.

Perkins DP200 pumps are lock timed, not housing timed. Follow the Perkins workshop manual for your engine. In general: set the engine to TDC on No. 1 cylinder, compression stroke, before the pump goes on, and do not turn the crankshaft with the pump off. A new pump may arrive with its drive shaft locked. Never turn the pump shaft with the locking screw tightened on it; fit the spacer under the screw first. Do not loosen the nut that holds the factory-set drive hub on the shaft. With the gear on the hub, the timing pin must slide through the gear and hub into the pump body with no resistance. Take up gear backlash by hand, tighten the gear screws, then remove the pin. Bleed the fuel system, then check idle and maximum no-load speed against the engine’s emissions data plate.
