DP200 pumps are usually replaced for hard starting, low power, smoke, fuel leaks, or wear from water or dirt in the fuel. Perkins DP200 pumps are lock timed at the factory, not housing timed like John Deere DP200 pumps, so install it by the Perkins procedure for your engine. Perkins DP200 pumps are lock timed, not housing timed. The pump shaft is locked (by a locking screw, or by a factory hub and timing pin on some engines) at the timing position. Keep the shaft locked until the drive gear is fitted and torqued, then release the lock as the Perkins manual for your engine directs. Do not turn the shaft by hand; if it turns by accident the pump has to be re-timed on a bench. Never steam clean or pour cold water on a warm pump, and bleed the injector lines one at a time so the system does not air lock.
