This is a new, genuine Kubota starter motor, part number 17381-63012. It is a 12 V, 1.4 kW unit for Kubota 03 Series diesels. Kubota engine dealers list it for some builds of the D1403, D1503, D1703, V1903, V2003, V2203 and V2403, and for Kubota SQ-1140, SQ-1200, SQ-3170 and SQ-3250 diesel generators. It is Kubota’s replacement for starters 17381-63010 and 70000-65440.

Replace a starter when it clicks but will not turn, cranks slowly on a good battery, grinds on engagement, or pulls too much current. Rule out the battery, cables, grounds and the start signal first. Kubota built 03 Series engines with more than one starter, and the output and the pinion tooth count differ between them, so the engine model alone is not enough to order by.
