Kubota 17121-52033 is the new, genuine Kubota mechanical fuel lift pump that Kubota describes as the fuel pump assembly for the 03 Series. Kubota engine dealers list it for the D1803, V2203 and V2403. Kubota’s tractor parts list puts it on a long run of L series tractors from the L2800 to the L5740, on the M4700, M4800SU, M4900, M5400, M5640SU and M5700, and on the MX4700, MX5000 and MX5100. It is the current number for the older 17121-52030.
Kubota’s description of this pump does not mention a primer. The 03 Series pump sold with a hand primer is a separate number, 17539-52033. A weak lift pump shows up as hard starting, surging, low power under load or stalling once warm, so check the fuel filter, the tank pickup and vent and the suction hose for air leaks before you replace it.

Fit a new mounting gasket and make sure the pump’s drive sits squarely on the cam before you tighten the mounting bolts. Clamp both hoses, bleed the fuel system as the tractor or engine manual describes, and check for leaks.
