This is a new, genuine Kubota alternator assembly, part number 1G740-64010. It is a 12 V, 40 A unit with a P terminal, and it is Kubota’s current number for alternators 16404-64010, 16404-64012, 16404-64013 and 16404-64014. Kubota engine parts dealers list it for some builds of the 03 Series diesels, the D1403, D1703, D1803, V2003, V2203 and V2403, and for the WG2503.
Kubota’s parts lists show 03 Series engines with 40 A, 45 A, 60 A and 90 A alternators, so the engine model alone does not pick the part. Older Kubota parts books call the 16404 unit an ASSY DYNAMO. It is the same 40 A alternator. Test output at the alternator with a good battery and check the belt and wiring before you replace it.

Disconnect the battery first. Compare the pulley, mounting ears and plug with the old alternator before you bolt the new one on. Set belt tension, check pulley alignment, clean the ground path, and connect the P terminal wire if your harness has one.
