This is the Bosch 0445020017, a new CP3 high-pressure fuel pump, not a rebuild, for the 2001 to 2004 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500 with the 6.6L Duramax LB7. The LB7 is VIN code 1 (8th digit) and ran into early 2004. This pump replaces GM 97720662 and 97208073 and also covers the other Bosch LB7 pump number, 0445020005. The Bosch remanufactured version of the same pump is 0986437303.

A tired CP3 shows up as low rail pressure under load, a P0087 code, hard starting or an engine that stalls under load. On an LB7, rule out the cheap things first: a plugged fuel filter, air getting into the supply side and injectors with high return flow all cause the same complaint. Three CP3 pumps cover the 2001 to 2010 Duramax and they look alike, but each engine takes its own number. The 2004.5 to 2005 LLY takes Bosch 0445020030 and the 2006 to 2010 LBZ and LMM take Bosch 0445020105.
