Bosch 0986435109 is a common-rail injector remanufactured by Bosch for the 2.7L five-cylinder OM647 diesel in the 2004 to 2006 Dodge Sprinter and Freightliner Sprinter 2500 and 3500. It replaces Mopar 5137297AA and Mercedes-Benz A6470700187. Sold as one injector; the engine takes five. A refundable core applies.
The new version of this injector is Bosch 0445110162. Sprinter injectors changed with the engine: 2003 and older vans have the OM612 and take Bosch 0986435053, and 2007 and newer vans have the 3.0L V6. Each of these injectors is marked with a code that has to be entered in the engine computer with a scan tool once it is fitted. The hold-down bolt is a one-time-use stretch bolt, so plan on a new bolt for every injector you pull. A reused bolt can let combustion gas leak past the injector. Hard starting, a rough idle, a miss or smoke are the usual reasons these get replaced.
Confirm Fitment Before You Order

The 2003 and older Sprinter with the OM612 takes Bosch 0986435053 (Mopar 5135154AA), and the 2007 and newer Sprinter has the 3.0L V6 and a different injector again. Send us your VIN or the number on your old injector. Call 530-668-0818 and we will confirm the exact match at no charge before anything ships.

Fits / Applications
- 2004 to 2006 Dodge Sprinter 2500 and 3500 with the 2.7L five-cylinder diesel (OM647)
- 2004 to 2006 Freightliner Sprinter 2500 and 3500 with the same engine
- Not for 2003 and older Sprinters (OM612 engine, Bosch 0986435053) or 2007 and newer Sprinters (3.0L V6)
- Five injectors per engine
Each injector is marked with a code. Enter the code for each cylinder in the engine computer with a scan tool after the injectors are fitted. The hold-down bolt is a stretch bolt and is one-time use, so fit a new one (Mopar 68001053AA) any time an injector comes out. Make sure the old copper seal is out of the bore, clean the seat, fit a new seal and follow the service manual torque procedure. A reused bolt or a poor seal can let combustion gas leak past the injector. Change the fuel filter while you are there.
