This is a new, genuine Kubota fuel injector, part number 16419-53905. Kubota calls it a nozzle holder kit (KIT HOLDER,NOZZLE). It is the complete injector, with the holder body, spring, push rod and nozzle assembled and set. It fits Kubota’s turbocharged 03 Series indirect-injection diesels: the four-cylinder V2003-T and V2403-M-T, and the three-cylinder D1503-T used in the R420 wheel loader. Kubota lists it on the L5240, L5740, MX5100, M5140 and M5640SU tractors and the R420 and R420S loaders. It replaces kit 16419-53900.
These injectors are replaced for hard starting, smoke, a miss at idle, low power under boost or a poor spray pattern on the pop tester. Check the air filter, the turbo and the fuel filter first, since they cause the same complaints. Kubota sells three lookalike injector kits for the 03 Series: this one for the turbo engines, 16454-53905 for V2203 and V2403 engines, and 16082-53903 for D1403, D1503, D1703 and some V2203 engines. They are separate part numbers. The direct-injection M-DI engines take a different injector again.

Fit a new copper gasket and heat seal under every injector you remove; Kubota’s 03-M workshop manual says both must be changed. Kubota’s numbers for them on these engines are 15841-53622 (gasket) and 19077-53650 (heat seal). The same manual gives 49 to 68 Nm (37 to 50 ft-lb) for the nozzle holder assembly and an injection pressure of 13.73 to 14.70 MPa (1,992 to 2,133 psi) on the V2403-M-T. Bleed the fuel system after fitting and check the injection pipes and the overflow pipe for leaks.
