This is the Alliant Power D28485, a new pencil fuel injector, not a rebuild. It is Alliant Power’s own version of the Stanadyne 28485 and replaces John Deere RE36939. It is the injector for the turbocharged 4039T and 6059T engines of the later 300 Series build and the 4045T and 6068T that followed them, plus the 4045D. Tractors that use it include the 5400, 6200, 6300, 6400, 7200 and 7400. It is the turbo partner to the D28481.
A pencil injector that is worn or stuck shows up as a miss, white or black smoke, a fuel knock, hard starting or fuel wash on one cylinder. Pencil injectors for these engines look almost the same from one number to the next, but the nozzle and the opening pressure differ, so match the number stamped on the body of your old injector before you order. One injector per cylinder.
Confirm Fitment Before You Order
The D28485 is the turbo injector and the D28481 is the non-turbo injector for the same engine family. The older turbocharged 300 Series engines (3179T, 6359T) take the 27336 type (D27336), and later 4045 and 6068 engines can take a different pencil injector again. Send us the number stamped on your old injector (28485 or RE36939) and the engine model and serial number. Call 530-668-0818 and we will confirm the exact match at no charge before anything ships.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the D28485 and the D28481?
The D28485 is for the turbocharged 4039T, 6059T, 4045T and 6068T engines and replaces RE36939. The D28481 is for the naturally aspirated engines and replaces RE36935. They do not interchange.
Is the D28485 the same as the D27336?
No. The D27336 is the older 27336 type (RE37503) for engines such as the 3179T and 6359T. Go by the number on your old injector.
Is the D28485 a Stanadyne injector?
No. It is Alliant Power’s own new pencil injector, built as the Alliant Power version of Stanadyne 28485.
How do I confirm it fits my tractor or loader?
Read the number on the body of your old injector, or call 530-668-0818 with the engine model and serial number. It is new, so there is no core to return.
