This is the Bosch 0986435739, a common-rail fuel injector remanufactured by Bosch for the Detroit Diesel DD13 12.8L. It takes the place of the injector in Detroit kit RA4600701287, which Detroit lists for EPA10 and GHG14 engines, and of Detroit A4710700487 and A4600701287. It is the remanufactured version of new Bosch 0445120270 and 0445120271, and the earlier Bosch remanufactured number for the same injector is 0986435598. The engine takes six injectors. A refundable core applies.
A miss under load, hard starting, smoke, fuel in the oil or a cylinder cutout test that points at one hole are the usual reasons these get replaced. Change the fuel filters at the same time, since dirty fuel is what wears these injectors out.
