This is a new, genuine Kubota starter motor assembly, part number 1K012-63013. Kubota describes it as a 3.0 kW, 12 V, 9-tooth starter for the V3 Series, and Kubota engine dealers list it for the V3300, V3600 and V3800 four-cylinder diesels. It replaces 1K012-63012 and 1K012-63010.

Replace a starter when it clicks but will not turn the engine, cranks slowly on a good battery, grinds on engagement or keeps running after the engine fires. These engines pull a lot of cranking current, so load test the battery and check voltage drop on both cables and the ground strap before you condemn the starter. Not every V3 Series engine takes this starter: Kubota’s V3300-E2B workshop manual calls for a 2.5 kW unit on that engine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the 1K012-63013 fit my Kubota V3800?

It is the genuine Kubota 12 V, 3.0 kW, 9-tooth V3 Series starter, listed for the V3800, V3600 and V3300. V3 Series engines were built with more than one starter, so call 530-668-0818 with your engine serial number and the number on your old starter and we will confirm it.

What numbers does the 1K012-63013 replace?

Kubota 1K012-63012 and 1K012-63010. If your old starter carries either number, this is the current part.

Is it the same starter as the 1G777-63014?

No. Both are 12 V, 3.0 kW, 9-tooth Kubota starters, but Kubota lists 1K012-63013 for the V3300, V3600 and V3800 and 1G777-63014 for the V3307. Order the number your engine calls for.
