PurePower Technologies remanufactures it for Alliant Power and calls it the 5L injector, 6924-PP, the low horsepower injector for the 570 engines. It replaces Navistar 1842578C91 through 1842578C95, 1842225C91 and 5010658R92.

The 9.3L engines of these years take one of two injectors, and the horsepower ranges overlap. Catalogs list AP66978 for the DT570 and AP66979 for the HT570, the high torque engine at 295 to 340 hp, so go by the engine model, not the rating alone. The 2006 engines moved to the BANG injectors, AP66992 for the DT570 and AP66995 for the HT570. Alliant Power lists new connectors, spool valve, coil and harness assemblies on this injector. The engine takes six.

The high-pressure oil rail has to come off to change a G2.9 injector. The injector inlet seals sit on the oil rail and must be replaced before the rail goes back on. Alliant Power kit AP0025 has those seals and backup rings, and it is not in the box with the injector. These injectors are fired by engine oil, so fresh oil and a new oil filter are good practice.
