This is a new, genuine Kubota injection pump assembly, part number 17548-51014, for the 2-cylinder Z482 engine in Kubota’s small diesel generators. Kubota’s illustrated parts lists show it on the GL7000, the 50 Hz GL6000 and the J106 and J107 generators. It replaces 17548-51010, the number fitted to earlier engines.

It is not the pump for every Z482. Kubota’s parts list for the Z482-E3B industrial engine calls for 16001-51012, the pump also used on the BX1500D and T1600H, and Kubota shows 16001-51012 on later GL6000, J106 and J107 engines too. So check the engine serial number before you order. Replace the pump when it leaks fuel, the control rack sticks, or the plungers and barrels are worn or rusted after dirty or wet fuel got through.

Kubota sets injection timing on this style of pump with shims under the pump mounting flange. Keep the old shim stack, fit it under the new pump, then check timing to the Kubota workshop manual spec for your engine. When you fit the pump, use the stop lever to line up the governor fork with the pump’s control rack pin; a missed pin can damage the fork. Find out why the old pump failed, then flush the tank and lines and fit new filters before start-up.
