This is a new, genuine Kubota fuel injector, part number 16871-53002. Kubota calls it a nozzle holder assembly (HOLDER,NOZZLE,ASSY). It is the complete injector, with the holder body, spring, push rod and nozzle assembled and set. It fits Kubota’s Super Mini indirect-injection diesels: the three-cylinder D722 and D902 and the two-cylinder Z482 and Z602. Kubota lists it on the BX1870, BX1880, BX2370, BX2380, BX23S and BX25D tractors, the RTV-X900 and RTV900 XT, the GR2120, the ZD1011 and ZD1021 and the K008-5, KX018-4 and U10-5 excavators. It replaces 16871-53000.

Kubota sells this injector two ways. 16871-53002 is the injector on its own, and 16871-53904 is Kubota’s kit number for the same injector. Plan on a new copper gasket and heat seal for each one. Kubota also used a second injector family on the Super Mini engines, the 16001 series (16001-53904), mostly on earlier machines. Models built across the change, such as the BX1860, BX2360, BX25, RTV900 9 series, GR2110, ZD221, ZD321, ZD323, K008-3, KX41-3 and U17, are on Kubota’s lists for both families. This is the injector on its own. Fit a new copper gasket and heat seal under each one: Kubota’s Super Mini workshop manual says both must be changed whenever an injector is removed, and Kubota’s numbers for them on these engines are 15841-53622 (gasket) and 19077-53650 (heat seal). Tighten the nozzle holder assembly to 49 to 68 Nm (37 to 50 ft-lb), bleed the fuel system and check the injection pipes and the overflow pipe for leaks.
