This is a new, genuine Kubota cylinder head assembly, part number 15371-03040 (Kubota description: ASSY HEAD,CYLINDER). It is the head for the Kubota D750, the 762 cc three-cylinder diesel of the B7100 tractor (D750-A in the gear-drive B7100D). Kubota’s parts lists show it on three builds: the B7100D-P, the old type B7100HST-D up to tractor serial 60163 and the old type B7100HST-E up to tractor serial 20024. In Kubota’s parts list the sealing caps, plugs and valve guides sit under the head assembly, and the valves, valve springs, stem seals and rocker arms are in a separate valve group with their own part numbers. A head on one of these engines is usually replaced after it cracks or warps from an overheat or a freeze. Have the old head pressure tested and checked for flatness first, and check the block deck too, because whatever damaged the head often reached the block. Set the new head next to the old one before you start and compare the bolt and stud holes, the ports and the glow plug and nozzle holder positions. Check what is fitted to the new head, then fit your valves or new ones with new stem seals as needed and check that they seat before the head goes on. Use a new head gasket (Kubota’s parts list also shows a gasket shim on this engine), tighten the head bolts and nuts in the sequence and to the torque in the Kubota workshop manual for your tractor, then set the valve clearance. Refill and bleed the cooling system, and find the cause of the overheat before the tractor goes back to work.
