Delphi EX836100 is a Delphi remanufactured common-rail high-pressure fuel pump for the Doosan-built D34 3.4L Tier 4 diesel, which Bobcat sells as its 3.4L engine. Bobcat uses the 3.4L in its 700 and 800 frame loaders, such as the S740, S750, S770, S850, T740, T750, T770, T870 and A770, and in the V519 and V723 VersaHandlers. It replaces Bobcat 7256789 and 7334031REM and Doosan 400912-00136B and 400912-00136C. The new Delphi pump for the same engine is 28526390.

The pump comes without the drive gear, so plan to move the gear over from your old pump. Pump timing to the engine is not critical on this engine, and the job ends with a high-pressure pump reset in a scan tool. A worn pump usually shows up as hard starting, low rail pressure codes, power loss or stalling. If water or debris took out the old pump, clean the tank and lines and change the filters before start-up. The D18 1.8L and D24 2.4L engines use a different pump, Delphi EX836101.

Clean the engine bay before you open the fuel system. The pump ships without the drive gear: transfer the gear from the old pump and torque the gear nut to 64 Nm (47 ft-lb). Timing the pump to the engine is not critical; the two marks on the gear face only line up with the crank when the front cover is off. Torque the pump mounting bolts to 22 Nm (16 ft-lb). The high-pressure line from pump to rail is one-time use: fit a new one and torque the nuts to 30.4 Nm (22 ft-lb). To bleed, open the vent plug on the filter head and hand-prime until fuel comes out with no bubbles, then close it. Pinch the pump return hose at the recirculation valve, prime until hard, idle 3 minutes, shut down and remove the pliers. Finish with the high-pressure pump reset procedure in a suitable scan tool.
