This is the Alliant Power AP66979, a remanufactured G2.9 fuel injector for the International HT570 9.3L, the high torque 570, of the 2004 and 2005 model years at 295 to 340 hp, engine serial numbers 2,000,001 through 2,999,999. PurePower Technologies remanufactures it for Alliant Power and calls it the 5H injector, 6925-PP, the high horsepower injector for the 570 engines. It replaces Navistar 1842579C91 through 1842579C95, 1842226C91 and 5010659R92.

Do not pick this one by horsepower alone. The DT570 of the same years, 285 to 330 hp, is listed on a different injector, AP66978, and the two ranges overlap. Go by the engine model and the Navistar number. The 2006 HT570 moved to the BANG injector, AP66995. Alliant Power lists new connectors, spool valve, coil and harness assemblies on every remanufactured G2.9 injector. Like every G2.9, it is fired by high-pressure engine oil, so check oil level, oil condition and the oil rail seals before you replace a set. The engine takes six.

The high-pressure oil rail has to come off to change a G2.9 injector. The injector inlet seals sit on the oil rail and must be replaced before the rail goes back on. Alliant Power kit AP0025 has those seals and backup rings, and it is not in the box with the injector. These injectors are fired by engine oil, so fresh oil and a new oil filter are good practice.
