Kubota GL11000 Lowboy II Diesel Generator (11 kW)

The GL11000 is the 11 kW standby, 10 kW prime member of Kubota’s GL Series: a single-phase diesel set built around the Kubota D722 three-cylinder, liquid-cooled diesel at 3600 rpm. It shares the low Lowboy II layout with the GL7000, about 27.5 inches tall, with engine and generator direct coupled.

The extra output covers bigger tools and loads: lifts, heaters, larger pumps and trailers. The GL11000-TM terminal model has output terminals for direct wiring to a transfer switch, so it also works as fixed backup power. We supply it new as an authorized Kubota dealer and quote each unit by phone. We also list its maintenance kit, stator, circuit breaker and injector.

Models

  • GL11000-USA (receptacle model): Two 5-20R GFCI receptacles, one L5-30R and one L6-30R. Kubota’s 2026 sheet also lists 50 A receptacle capability. Call us to confirm whether current-production units have the 50 A outlet.
  • GL11000-TM (terminal model): One GFCI receptacle plus output terminals for direct wiring. Kubota lists this model as ATS compatible. Use it for a hard-wired or transfer-switch installation.

Features

  • 10 kW prime and 11 kW standby for bigger tools and loads
  • Direct-coupled engine and generator for steady output with little power loss
  • Low, compact Lowboy II layout
  • All service points on one side
  • Automatic shutdown for low oil pressure and high coolant temperature
  • Double-element air cleaner as standard for dusty sites
  • GL11000-TM: output terminals for an automatic transfer switch
  • Radiator, muffler and airflow designed together for low noise
  • One-point lifting eye

Typical Uses

  • Construction: electric lifts, concrete tools, site offices
  • Farm and ranch: well pumps and farm equipment
  • Industrial and mobile work: ground heaters, cell-site maintenance, food trucks
  • Backup power for a small office or shop through a transfer switch (TM model)

Add up the running watts and the starting watts of everything you plan to power before you pick a size. Motors need extra power to start. Your electrician can check the load.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the GL11000-USA and the GL11000-TM?

The GL11000-USA is the receptacle model: you plug loads into the panel outlets. The GL11000-TM is the terminal model, with one GFCI outlet and output terminals for direct wiring.

Can a GL11000 back up a building?

Yes, through a transfer switch. Kubota lists the GL11000-TM terminal model as ATS compatible, so that is the model for a wired-in setup, at up to 41.7 A at 240 V. A licensed electrician must install the transfer (isolation) switch and decide how the generator is connected and started.

How long does a GL11000 run on one tank?

Kubota’s spec sheet lists 7.0 hours at full load, 8.5 hours at three-quarter load, 10.4 hours at half load and 12.7 hours at quarter load on the 7.4 gallon tank. Fuel use at full load is 1.09 gallons an hour.

GL11000 or GL14000?

The GL14000 gives 12 kW rated against 10 kW prime, and 50 A at 240 V against 41.7 A. It adds built-in spill containment, and outlets and terminals on the same unit. It is also the bigger machine: 35.24 inches tall against 27.5, and heavier.

What does a GL11000 take for routine service?

Kubota sells one maintenance kit for the GL7000 and GL11000, KEAGM-71100: oil filter, inner and outer air filters, fuel filter and one gallon of oil. We list that kit. Kubota’s spec sheet lists 3.4 L of engine oil and 4.1 L of coolant for the GL11000. Follow the service intervals in the Kubota operator’s manual for your unit.

Which repair parts do you list for the GL11000?

We list the GL11000 stator assembly G3112-02420, the circuit breaker G3112-03510, the Denso injector 093500-4100 and the maintenance kit. For other Kubota generator parts, call 530-668-0818 with the model and serial number from the data plate.

How do I get a quote on a GL11000?

Call 530-668-0818 and tell us which model you need, GL11000-USA or GL11000-TM.

Before You Run It

  • Run it outdoors only, in a well-ventilated spot. Never run a generator inside a home, shop or enclosed trailer.
  • Do not use it in the rain or where it is exposed to rain. Kubota’s operator’s manual lists this as an electric shock hazard.
  • Before it is connected to a building’s wiring, a licensed electrician must install a transfer (isolation) switch. Backfeeding a building can electrocute line workers and damage the generator.
  • Use ultra low sulfur diesel only (No. 2-D S15). Kubota’s manual covers No. 1-D S15 for cold weather.
  • Kubota says not to plug sensitive electronics straight into a generator. Ask your electrician about a safe way to connect them.
  • California: it is a violation of Public Resources Code Section 4442 or 4443 to use or operate this engine on any forest-covered, brush-covered, or grass-covered land unless the engine is equipped with a spark arrester, as defined in Section 4442, maintained in effective working order, or the engine is constructed, equipped, and maintained for the prevention of fire pursuant to Section 4443. Kubota’s operator’s manual says the engine is not fitted with a spark arrester as standard.

Warning symbolWARNING: Breathing diesel engine exhaust exposes you to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

  • Always start and operate the engine in a well-ventilated area.
  • If in an enclosed area, vent the exhaust to the outside.
  • Do not modify or tamper with the exhaust system.
  • Do not idle the engine except as necessary.
