This is a new, genuine Kubota cylinder head, part number 19077-03050 (Kubota description: HEAD,CYLINDER,COMP). It is the head for the old type Kubota V2203, the 2.2 liter indirect-injection (E-TVCS) four-cylinder, as fitted to L4200, L4310 and L4610 tractors, early L4300 tractors, KX121-2 and KX161-2 excavators and the R520 wheel loader. It is Kubota’s current number for this head and replaces 19077-03048 and 19077-03045. On the tractors and excavators it also sits where older Kubota parts books show head 16429-03040.

In Kubota’s parts diagram for these engines the cylinder head reference takes in the sealing caps, plugs, valve guides and valve seats. Valves, valve springs, rocker arms, nozzle holders, glow plugs, the head gasket and the 18 head bolts are separate Kubota part numbers, so plan to move yours over or order them with the head. These heads are usually replaced for cracks or warping after an overheat. Have the old head pressure tested and checked for flatness, and check the block deck before you fit a new one.

Set the new head next to the old one first and compare the ports, the bolt pattern and the nozzle holder and glow plug positions. Move your valves, springs and rocker gear over or fit new ones, with new stem seals, and check that the valves seat. Use a new head gasket and follow the bolt sequence and torque in the Kubota workshop manual for your machine, then set the valve clearance. Fit new seals under the nozzle holders you disturb, refill and bleed the cooling system, and find the cause of the overheat before the engine goes back to work.

Will the 19077-03050 fit my Kubota L4300?

Only an L4300 with the old type head. Kubota’s parts list has two cylinder head groups for the L4300, and later engines take head 1G780-03043. Call 530-668-0818 with your engine serial number and we will check which one you have.

What numbers does the 19077-03050 replace?

It replaces Kubota 19077-03048 and 19077-03045. On the L4200, L4310, L4610, early L4300, KX121-2 and KX161-2 it is also the head Kubota’s parts list now shows in place of the earlier 16429-03040.
