This is the Garrett 888143-9001S, an AVNT3788 variable geometry turbocharger remanufactured by Garrett, the maker of the original. It is a direct fit on 2017 to 2019 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 pickups with the 6.7L Power Stroke and replaces Ford HC3Z-6K682-A. It does not fit cab and chassis trucks. A refundable core applies.
It also goes on 2015 and 2016 pickups, with one condition. A 2015 or 2016 truck that has the external oil feed line to the turbo needs the pedestal update kit (Alliant Power AP0198) with it, because this turbo takes its oil through the pedestal. Common reasons to replace the turbo are shaft play, oil in the charge pipes, sticking vanes, a whine under boost and boost codes. Check the oil feed and drain, the intake and the charge air cooler before you fit the new one.

Change the engine oil and filter, check the oil feed and drain for restriction, and clean the charge air cooler and pipes of oil and debris from the old turbo. Use new gaskets and prime the turbo with clean oil before first start.
