This is the Bosch 0432191601, a new nozzle and holder assembly for the mechanical Cummins 6CTA 8.3L C series. It replaces Cummins 3802753 and 3928228. Case IH listed the same injector as J928228 and has since replaced that number with J930525, which is Bosch 0432191595. Catalogs show this one on the Case IH 2166 combine and the 8910 and 8930 Magnum tractors. It is built on the Bosch KBAL105P62 holder and opens at 260 to 274 bar.

Mechanical injectors wear at the nozzle. A dribbling or stuck nozzle shows up as a miss, black or white smoke, fuel knock, hard starting or fuel in the oil. Pop test the old set before you condemn the pump. Replace them as a full set, one per cylinder, so every cylinder opens at the same pressure. Bosch 0432191391, 0432191628 and 0432191642 are different 8.3L injectors: they open at 300 to 314 bar and carry other Cummins numbers. Do not mix them with this one.

Fit a new sealing washer under each injector and clean the bore first. Tighten the hold-down and the line nuts to the engine maker’s figures, bleed the lines, and check for leaks at the return connections. Change the fuel filters at the same time.
